A wonderful home for a family reunion of 11 adults. Place was spotless, comfortable beds, plenty of towels. Kitchen plenty of pots and pans, dishes etc. Loved all the games, water activities and hot tub. There is no shortage of fabulous places to ignite the senses. Saugatuck allows open containers in the "social district" off Butler and Water Streets. Enjoy a beverage from one of the local watering holes and feel free to bring it with you as you walk the riverfront.
You will enjoy nearby access to Lake Michigan and all the unsalted coast has to offer. Whether it’s spring, summer, fall and or winter, there is something for everyone to enjoy! From hiking and mountain biking to kayaking and paddle boarding, there are plenty of outdoor activities to choose from. And if you are visiting during the winter months, be sure to try out a wintery hike at the beach, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing along the lakeshore.
The SaugaBuck House is within a 5-minute drive of Downtown Saugatuck and Douglas! The Interurban is a on-call public transportation service that services Saugatuck/Douglas/Fennville. Simply call the number and request a pickup. $1 fares each way!

Perfect Waterfront Location, Close to Town:
The SaugaBuck House is located just a 5-minute drive into downtown Saugatuck and Douglas, making it easily accessible to the area's top local eateries, cafes, shops, and activities. Immersed in nature and perched along the Kalamazoo River, The SaugaBuck House comes equipped with two kayaks and two paddleboards so you can walk down to your private beach and hop in the river. After an afternoon on the water, head back to the house to fire up the grill. Enjoy dinner on the large dining table inside or have a more casual dining experience by the campfire (BYOWood). When you're ready to explore the neighborhood, you can head to one of the many wooded trails or beaches in the area. Take a drive over to Oval Beach where the sand squeaks under your feet or head to the Saugatuck Dunes State Park for a scenic hike through the dunes where the trees eventually open up to a spectacular view of Lake Michigan. Local wineries with tasting rooms are also plentiful in the area in case you and your group want to try something new.

My 32 year old niece asked if we could come back every year! When the adult kids had as much fun with the adults, as the adults had with the kids, that's what I call mission accomplished!!!!

The house was very nice. There is access to the river in the back with kayaks and paddleboards which was very nice and so fun for the kids. There was plenty of room for all of us, especially with the guest house. The hot tub seemed to not be kept up completely, as it felt slimy after using. Otherwise, everything else was in good working order. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

Our family rented the property for a summer vacation and had a wonderful time! The home was spacious and gave us lots of amenities. The great room overlooking Silver Lake was such a light, airy space to hang out in. We also enjoyed time in the game room and appreciated the variety of things to do.We had a blast having bonfires and making s’mores — though the walk down to the firepit was a bit challenging due to the steep steps. The kayaks were a nice touch and were used several times during our stay, as was the hot tub.All the beds were extremely comfortable and we slept soundly after a fun day in the sun. Thanks for a great stay!!!
This property fully matched the Airbnb description on the inside, but the outside was not what we expected. The rooms were clean, beds and seating were comfortable, and the multiple kitchens were all well appointed. The butler's pantry had a surprising amount of items that were extremely helpful for our group of ten and we loved all the seating options for dining, and the game room in the basement was used by all. The downside was that the exterior did not appear to have been cleaned prior to our arrival. Patio tables had sap and debris on them, as did all the rugs and seating. The entire exterior needs to be power-washed and cleaned, and all kinds of plant material was on the entryways and walls. The outdoor equipment (kayaks, life jackets) was dusty and everything needed to be wiped down and some life jackets were soaking wet when we arrived. Since the appeal of this property was the outside space, it was frustrating that it wasn't ready for use and we had to spend time cleaning.
Our family had a great time. This place had great views and very spacious. So nice.

This house was perfect for our bachelorette weekend in Sagautuck. It was very conveniently located, was very spacious, and had plenty to do at the house itself. I would definitely recommend this if you are taking a trip to the area.
