Meet The Goats!
Friendly goats visit the fence near the lower porch and hot tub. You’re welcome to pet them through the fence and feed them with the complimentary bag of grain provided. Ring the bell to let them know it’s feeding time!
Home Layout
From the front entry, the laundry room is on the right and a queen bedroom with a smart TV and walk-in closet is on the left. Across the hall is a full bathroom with a tiled walk-in shower. Continue into the open-concept living, kitchen, and dining area, with vaulted tongue-and-groove ceilings and mountain views. Sliding doors lead to the back balcony, with comfortable seating, a gas fireplace, and wood-lined walls and ceilings.
Upstairs, a cozy king loft bedroom has a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and closet space. Downstairs, the theater room has a projector, full-over-full bunk beds, a foosball table, and board games. The final king bedroom has a private bathroom with a tub/shower combination. Sliding doors from this bedroom open to the back patio and six-person hot tub with panoramic views.

The view from this location was absolutely amazing, and watching the sun set over the scenery was truly spectacular! We would definitely recommend Home Base River City for families looking for a comfortable, beautiful, and thoughtfully equipped place to stay.
Really a great place to retrieve and reset. surrounded by beautiful views of the mountains. My favorite part was a jacuzzi with a breathtaking sunset. House was clean and our host very responsive! Great staycation for us!
Amazing space! The views were amazing and the goats were a lot of fun. The beds were comfy and the space was great for hanging out for a long weekend girls trip. Each having our own bathrooms was really nice too and own private space but plenty of common areas to hang out. Would highly recommend!
We have stayed in a lot of air bnb’s and this was by far one of our favorites. Amazing views but not too far from town. The house was beautiful and extremely clean (even the kitchen appliances/utensils and hot tub were pristine). We absolutely loved the theatre room and the cute goats in the back yard. 10/10 would recommend!!!

Our second time staying at one of the Alpine Cottages. Would highly recommend to animal lovers. The goats were wonderful! We will be coming back. Convenient to Chattanooga and St Elmo. Private with beautiful views.
Nice, newer house with a great view! River City Rentals was very communicative/responsive and does a great job of maintaining this and their neighboring properties. The goats were a lot of fun to feed and watch, and it's easy to get to Chattanooga, Cloud Canyon, and other nearby attractions. We would definitely rent the property again.
We had a wonderful stay! This home was perfect for our family of five. One thing for families to note is that there is a bedroom on each level, with the main (middle) level being the entry level. If you prefer to have younger children sleeping on the same floor as you, you’ll want to keep the layout in mind when deciding who stays where. We found the lower level worked great for us because the bedroom there feels like a primary suite, and the bunk room is right next door, making it a convenient setup for parents with younger kids.The home was spotless, and the driveway had plenty of room for our full-size SUV. We absolutely loved relaxing on the back deck—the sunsets were absolutely breathtaking! The goats and hot tub were such fun added bonuses and made our stay even more memorable. The location was fantastic and very convenient to Ruby Falls, Rock City, and several other attractions. We would highly recommend this home to anyone visiting the area and would definitely stay here again!
Wonderful house and location! Perfect layout for family with small children and the goats were our toddler’s favorite.
